Questions of Faith
Seek, and ye shall find.
Matthew 7:7Don’t see your question? Call or write us. We would be honored to answer, and to pray with you.
I’m new to the faith. Where do I begin?
Right where you are. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). On the Day of Pentecost, when the people asked what they must do, Peter answered:
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” Acts 2:38
Should I be baptized?
The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call (Acts 2:39). On the Day of Pentecost, the believers were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). If you are ready to be baptized, email First Lady Deidra R. O’Neal at FLO@cityofmiracles.org, and she will reach out to talk with you and set a date.
What is faith?
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Common sense is not faith, and faith is not common sense. Faith reaches the shores where common sense fails, and it must be tried before it becomes real in our lives.
What do I do when I get there?
Just be yourself. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). Join a few minutes early, say hello, and worship as the Spirit leads you.
Is there an in-person location?
Most of the time we worship together on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere. From time to time we also gather in person. Each in-person service is announced ahead of time with the date and location. To hear about the next one, send us a message or call 972-474-8778.
